Norfolk is a county with a rich and varied horticultural history and there are many wonderful gardens, large and small, to enjoy and learn from. We have a wonderful base just south of Norwich in an historic walled garden, but we also run courses in several gardens across Norfolk and are always looking at interesting potential course venues.

Where you can learn

The White House

A large garden around a former farmhouse. It is a family space with trampoline and footballs, but it is also a mature garden with mixed herbaceous borders, a veg patch, a parterre with pleached crab apples and a planned woodland garden. It is very much a work in progress. We ran some of our first courses here, and will do some propagation and seed collection courses here during the year.

We will also run courses in other gardens around Norfolk. Get in touch if you would like us to organise a course nearer you.

Ketteringham Hall
Walled Garden

This is a large historic Victorian walled garden which we are starting to renovate and which is our main base. It is a fantastic opportunity to breathe life back into this space which we are gradually planning and planting.  We now have a wonderful Rhino greenhouse and a Direct Plants polytunnel which give us protected space for propagation, growing and wet days! We have a classroom in the Hall for design courses and class-based horticulture theory. Beyond the walls is parkland with wonderful trees, a lake and a woodland garden with thousands of spring bulbs.

We can offer a completely bespoke service. We know that sometimes you need someone to show you how to prune a specific shrub, or how to renovate a particular border. Or maybe you would like to have someone gardening alongside you for a few weeks so you can learn from them and build your confidence. A Gardening Coach could be what you need. You may want a one to one session or to get together with some friends for a small group lesson.
